Why Choose Fauxwood Shutters?
Faux Wood shutters are near identical to their hardwood cousins, but that’s not the only reason to order them:
- No fading, warping, or cracks
They’re made from the highest quality composite materials, so you can be sure that they’ll be in the same condition for years, decades even.
- Fully waterproof
If your home suffers from excess damp or moisture, fear not. Faux Wood shutters are completely water-resistant.
- The eco-friendly option
Our Eco Wood shutters are the most environmentally friendly shutters on the market.

-
Wipe the blades: Dip a soft damp cloth in the cleaning solution and wipe the blades of the blinds one by one. Be careful to be gentle to avoid damaging the wood.
-
Clean the gaps: For the gaps between the blades, you can use a small brush or an old toothbrush to dip in the cleaning solution and scrub carefully.

Venetian shutters generally have good durability and stability and can be used for a long time without painting. If you need to paint, please follow the steps below:
1. Preparation
Prepare tools such as sandpaper, brushes, scrapers,
masking tape, etc. Remove the shutters, place them on a stable
workbench, and wipe them with a clean damp cloth to remove dust and
debris.
2. Sanding
Use coarser sandpaper for preliminary sanding to remove
the rough parts and old paint on the surface, and then use finer
sandpaper for fine sanding to make the surface smooth and flat. After
sanding, wipe off the dust with a clean dry cloth.
3. Fill gaps (if necessary)
If there are gaps or dents in the
shutters, you can use wood filler to fill them. Follow the instructions
of the filler and wait for it to dry before sanding it flat.
4. Apply primer
Choose a suitable blind primer, stir it evenly,
and apply it evenly on the shutters with a brush to ensure that every
place is covered. The drying time of the primer depends on the product
instructions.
5. Fine sanding:
After the primer is dry, lightly sand with fine sandpaper to remove tiny particles and unevenness on the surface.
6. Apply topcoat:
Stir the topcoat and apply it evenly on the
shutters. You can apply multiple layers of topcoat as needed, leaving
appropriate drying time between each layer.
7. Post-processing:
Check the paint surface for flaws and repair them if necessary. Let the shutters dry thoroughly in a well-ventilated place.
Tips: You can start sanding from the top shutters and process them one by one. When applying the primer, you can use a wide brush and apply it evenly from left to right. When applying the topcoat, you can use a cross-cross method to get a more uniform effect. If you accidentally get it elsewhere during the painting process, you can protect it with masking tape in time. After all the work is completed, install the shutters back to their original position.
